Today we celebrated the impending start of school with my daughter and her friends. Dinner and ice cream, best dresses and budding friendships.
The girls giggle together, dance, hold hands and whisper. They wrap each other in hugs, nearly knocking each other over with their enthusiasm.
Their eyes have a fresh sparkle, filled with excitement and nervousness of this new chapter in their lives. I watch and smile, glad they have each other and also proud that they both have a respect and appreciation for this friendship.

It’s wonderful to be on the sidelines of such innocence and genuine goodness. I am grateful for my spot here.

Life is one big road with lots of signs,
So when you riding through the
ruts, don't you complicate
your mind:
Flee from hate, mischief and jealousy!
Don't bury your thoughts; put your
vision to reality. - Bob Marley
“Wake up and live”, the lyrics continue. “Wake up and live, now!”
A good reminder for each day- stay positive, wake up and live!

The kids and I painted. We had such fun. I cherish these moments, our special times, our colorful fun.

“Once in a while you get shown the light… in the strangest of places if you’ll look at it right.”
- Robert Hunter
Keep your eyes open. Pay attention. Look for positivity. Grasp it. Hold on tight. This quote is actually lyrics taken from one of my favorite songs. I love it and thought it was worth sharing here.

So grateful today for a quiet morning… the kids played together nicely, in their pjs, without a tv on. The dog curled up near them and slept, listening to them giggle and talk and I sat nearby in front of my computer with a hot cup of coffee and plenty of time to catch up on my writing.
Wonderful.

Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself: I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it.
-- Groucho Marx
